If you start them off in a large enough container there is no benefit, unless you are just moving them into an even bigger container. Other than maybe if you are flushing or something, but that shouldn't require transplant. The rule of thumb is a gallon of growth space for each foot of height.

Ok remember this my man, never never never give nutes until at least two weeks at least after planting. Your plants are small and weak and need time for the roots to develop before you shock then with nutes.

Yeah, paper towels certainly would have been better. Also, if you are already sneaking around just germinating seeds, really think about whether or not you will be able to setup a worthwhile grow. That would suck to put so much effort in to a grow only to have it ruined.
