IMO 600 hps if you can afford the power, 400 hps after that. Get a hps or a switchable ballast for both hps and mh and replace those incondest bulbs around your house with clf's lol cause thats what there for, hahah lol soz cfler's. Also turn down your hot water temp a tad to cover power cost...

should grab ya self a retro conversion mh for ya hps man if ya straped for cash, it would help alot for veg IMO as a newbie, got a 250 mh on mine till i need the extra, 600hps waiting for flower.

Using flairform greendream grow 1 part here and will be using bloom 1 part for flowering. As a first timer this stuff is great for the beginner as its ph buffered no stuffing up on mixing 2 parts and can be used for coco, hydro and soil. Dont run out and buy ya nutes until ya do ya homework man...

As a first timmer ill say its a life saver when transplanting or nute/ ph probs. Its a great way to keep them healthy while ya sort ya probs but isnt practical long term.

only a noobie here but from what ive read use like shoe string profile nylone string with loose loops so it doesn't cut into the steam's, dont over do it just enough to maintain you hight and anker down, also dont do it to far down as the laws of pysics and leverage apply. Seen alot of pics...

From what i read in a light thread somewhere 600 is the most effecient but i cant remember if they included 1000's, one book says 22000 lumes at 2ft 600 hps, 35000 lumes at 2ft for the 1000 hps, 12500 lumes at 2ft for a 400 hps. I would go 2 600's lol if i only could dream because you could lap...

Heya guys what ph do you use to grow in coco, ive herd of things from 5.5 to 6.8? there doesnt seem to be any good ballpark figure to work with that ive came across. Atm i'am going with a 6 ph would nute uptake be better at 5.8?
