the bulbs wont work in a normal lamp socket, they might screw in but they wont work. you need a ballast to run HID lights, even Fluoro tubes and CFLs have a ballast theyre just built into the fixture/base. theres some cheap, about $70, 150w HPS lights on ebay and HTGsupplies. or if youre lucky...

buy a sheet of plywood and lay it on top of the insulation as a floor. there should be beams every 2ft or so up there for the ply to sit on. ¼" ply or thicker should do the job.

what is the ph of the soil or the run off from the soil? stop using that water, try some rain water or buy some water.

i think youre going a bit overboard. for that much effort youd be better off with a cheap HPS, itll pay for itself first grow. just one light to hang and more light for less watts. or use fluoro tubes, theyd be a lot simpler to setup. that 3 way one might be 2 Y joined together?

do you need mogul sockets? mogul are the big ones not std household Edison Screw ones. id think any cfl under 100w would likely be a normal ES type not mogul. but yea you can run the 8 sockets in parallel from one mains plug no worries. run same color wire to the same terminal on each light...

ive seen some dual light reflectors around at online stores, never really looked into them tho. wouldnt be too hard to make one up i dont rekon. just wire in a 2nd mogul socket under a reflector, offset both sockets so they fit in better. nice looking box plans there. have you thought about...

its whole numbers or part thereof. with higher number theres more chance of burning or overferting. .2/.1/.3 is less concentrated than 2/1/3, but theres a lot more to it than that tho too. theres some articles in the faq on the subject if you want to read up on it
