Reson I'd pick CFL's is the bang for the buck plus diversity / control. LED's are not cheap. Also not as simple as picking anyone off a shelf. HPS / MH readily available, cheap, wide variety of bulb choices, assotrment of hoods, etc. CFL's increase as you grow (if desired), easy positioning...

Home Depot 1/4" ply as mounting board. Grills from tiawan (W/ fans). Back is 2 layers of double HD Cardboard from the mower shop (trash bin). Spray adhesive to criss-cross like plywood. Pretty strong and a fair insulator for heat & sound. Is that what you meant?
