    Calling All Noob Growers

Blazed, You're going to be surprised by how much faster your plants start sucking up the water once you start using this method. Before i started this i was only needing to water every 5-6 days, but now its usually every 2-3 days at most. The plants I just stuck into flowering that had this...

    Auto Blueberry grow

There really isn't an ideal wattage per plant, and there are a lot of different options for lighting. Wattage really isn't as important as lumens, and your plants are going to want 6000+ lumens to grow really well. With just one plant you could do just fine with a few CFL's as long as you make...

To FIM or Not to FIM

It depends on how long you plan to veg them after fimming before you flower. You really should give the plants at least 2 weeks to recover and start growing the new branches before you put them into flower or they won't develop to their full potential. Not saying you can't Fim and flower on...

    Calling All Noob Growers

Riddle, Your right, I'm more about quality, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't like to see 1/2 pound harvests either. :) I finally got a chance to weigh what i got out of the first plant of my Opium grow, and it was about as bad as I had expected. Came out to a whole 22 grams, which is 6...

    Calling All Noob Growers

Interesting reads Riddle. I don't leaf my plants either, but i have been wondering if doing some pruning/removal of lower branches might not be worthwhile. The theory on that goes that those branches and buds aren't getting enough light to ever ripen up enough to be worth while, and that...

Nutrients and how to use them

Willy, I agree with riddle on the nute issue. Everyone has their one personal preferences, and what works great for me here in Colorado with my blueberry strains might not work as well for someone in Georgia that's growing white widows. You don't need to buy a bunch of expensive products to...

    Auto flowering questions??

The thing about autoflowers is that they don't care what the light conditions are, they are going to flower anyway. Since they are going to flower no matter what you might as well give them at least 18/6 since they will grow more/bigger buds then they would running a 12/12. I know some people...

    pH question...just to be sure!

Anything between 6.0 and 6.5 is generally considered to be acceptable. You might be able to improve the plants growth a little by dropping the Ph closer to 6.0, but it's not really worth the hassles unless the plant is showing signs of PH problems.

need some experience and a solution

Just a thought about PH. I read an article a couple weeks back that stated that the "normal" Ph ranges that are considered standard for cannabis growing are not really base on scientific fact, but are actually based on the fact that the old PH meters everyone used were designed for aquariums...

fan leave dieing in early flowering?

Not sure what to tell you. My first reaction would be to stop using that mix of nutrients while i did some research to make sure that the mix contained everything my plants need in the proper ratios for early flowering. Your plant needs slightly higher P and K during early flowering, but not...

add cfl of an other hps?

Depends on your ventilation and how many plants your growing in the space, how big they are going to get, etc. Adding another HID only makes sense if it will allow you to grow enough addiitonal plants (or larger plants) to make the extra harvest worth the extra expense for lighting. Honestly...

    Calling All Noob Growers

Heyas Riddle, I'm finally smoking my own bud, bud! The cola I harvested due to the hermie 10-12 days ago finished curing yesterday, and it turned out better then I expected. I've also got the yield from the plant I harvested last weekend curing now, and should be able to start testing it in a...

There is an App For That

Dru, It really isn't that expensive to grow once you have all your equipment, but it takes a while for that initial investment to pay for itself. You also have to keep in mind that this the sort of business where you can utilize economies of scale to reduce your production costs. On this...

    Calling All Noob Growers

What part of town are you looking in? I'm over in Commerce City myself, and if you can handle having a lot of neighbors that don't speak English it's not such a bad place to live. I bought over here because it's close to work and the prices were good, and soon discovered that the areas a lot...

    revegging after flowering ??

I've got one revegging now, and it taking up light isn't really a problem since it was pruned back to a fairly small size at harvest. The vegging plants that are about to be rotated in to flowering are bigger then it is, and since it sits on the outer edge of the pot formation it's not really...

    Calling All Noob Growers

Heyas Riddle, I'm going to be stopping by Paulino's after work tomorrow to get another bag or two of soil, and I may just have to pick up a bottle of the silica and see how well it works on a few of my blueberries. I'm assuming they have it hidden over with all the other dyna grow stuff where...

    I have a few questions

Watering is subjective. The simplest way to decide when to water is to water the plant enough so that you have just a little bit of run through coming out of the drainage holes on the side/bottom of the pot, then pick the pot up and see how heavy it feels. Wait several days until the pot is...

    Spider Mites residence? and removal?

Weed, So is Neem, but I'm not overly hung up on whether stuff is organic or not (which is why i use the hot shot strips).

check out my first successful grow

Nice looking girls. Just a thought though, since I'm in week 8 of flowering with a strain that has that same "spidery" kind of stalks. Right now everything is all good, but come week 8 of flowering you may find yourself needing to use strings from the ceiling to help your baby keep some of her...

    Nutrients (help, please!)

Wotan, You really need to spend a bit more time reading up on what makes your plants happy, otherwise your going to be dissappointed with your results. P is important during flowering because it's the primary nutes used in bud production, but N, K and all the micronutrients are equally as...
