giving defoliation during flower a try

The answer to your question depends on a lot of factors. What's the strain/phenos resistance to stress? How is the general health of the plant? Also how often one prunes and how much they prune back can affect the plant. I think a safe rule of thumb for pruning (namely the fan leaves and what...

giving defoliation during flower a try

Buds do produce, in a backwards sort of way. It is my understanding that Trichs actually do use light (including UVb) to convert the various compounds into the desired cannabinoids, such as CBD, CBG, and THC. Setting aside whether Defol impacts overall yield or not, where does bud quality come...

    Have these hermied. Pics:

Watch out for N toxicity also, second pic is showing plenty of the "claw".

Any know what's up with these leaves?

When's the last time your friend checked/adjusted PH levels, and how often? High ph can give you some funky growth, IME. You say it is a seed, yes? I really don't think it is genetics.

Why would defoliation increase stretch rate

Had to read up to see if anyone answered this or not... I concur, Mcbride. There is more to a plant than just the basic functions of cell growth through processes such as photosynthesis. I believe that leaves themselves do contain useful hormones which can vary throughout the growth cycle of the...

Effect of Defoliation on Yield - Skywalker OG indoor scrog

I am under the impression that light (UVb) to the bud sites can increase resin production, as well as cannabinoid levels. One issue with this indoors, however, is that the glass that typically surrounds an HPS bulb filters out what little bit of UVb that might be emitted. Is anyone else familiar...

    Soil and hydro hybrid?

I'm slightly confused as to how you water without runoff from soil going into your DWC, but it sounds interesting. Is it working out for you?

First time cab grow, 4 unknown photos

fwiw, looks like the discolored leaf plant had a some PH issues, judging by the wavy leaves. How's the grow?

12-12 from sprout, 2.5 months later no pistols. What could this be?

I've read where some strains take a long time to shift gears, as hormone production varies within the plant during diff stages of it's life. Is your grow sativa dominant? A long flowering sativa can take a bit to show flowering, and that's with a plant that's already been vegging for a while...

    Place For Dumb Questions.

Cutting off (topping) or tying down (LST) the TOP of the plant will allow for multiple tops if done correctly. Search for Uncle Ben's topping method.

PLEASE LOOK! I need anyone and everyone's opinion, would this be okay for multiple plants?

Most will tell you that you're best bet would be to read up a bit more on growing. The Autos you're going to run, do you know the total grow time from germ to harvest? It's prob around two-three months, so maybe two plants will be ok. The root systems will compete when they are close enough, and...

    Please advise

Next run, LST your plants and even out the canopy. CFL's won't give you a whole lot of penetration like HO or HID lighting, so evening out the canopy will help to disperse light to more of the plant, instead of just the top. I assume you're just about to hit the flush at this point, how is your...

    My Stealth Grow (video)

Miracle grow isn't the best, obviously, but it will get it done. Looks like you might have a little bit too much wind on those girls, unless it's all you can do to keep the heat down, in which case it's prob better than cooking them. Looks like you had a little bit of Nitrogen toxicity. No light...

    my first indoor

pbz: a simple air purifier with charcoal pad just helps to absorb some of the odor and circulate the air in the tent. It doesn't have to be in flower to smell like weed. Nice little DIY lights, should do the trick just fine.

    Grow Cabinet w 4' 4bulb T5

Still building? I'd recommend panda or something over the wood, easy to wipe down and probably discourages mold/rot a bit more than wood. Drilling a hole at the top of the cab and mounting an air duct inline fan up there would work. Check out your hardware store, or look online, for dryer hose...

    my first indoor

If you were to run your T5 with a screen parallel to that, you could weave your two plants through and spread them out and get even light coverage. I think the T5 might be more efficient in terms of even distribution than self ballasted CFLs, so I'd consider growing around that. As this is your...

60w R63 spot bulb this do for now???

unless you've already got something going, I wouldn't advise using it. I don't believe that the spectrum emitted by your R63 is very usable by the plant. Incandescent bulbs are not efficient enough to grow by. How about running two 60W CFL's instead of a 125w? Maybe even run dual color spectrum...
