    parabolic reflector with 400w,HELP

if you're growing vert, why use a reflector instead of running a bare bulb or cool tube? Keep your light far enough from the plants that when you put your hand near the canopy it doesn't burn you.

    cash crop, 3 weeks old

Recommend you do some reading, or prepare for unexpected results. If you're sticking with CFLs the whole grow, you don't want to wait much longer, if at all, in terms of vegetative growth. You will not have the light intensity required to grow a large plant with just a handful of of CFLs...

giving defoliation during flower a try

If you look closely, you will see a lot of unripe fruit, hard to see as it is as green as the canopy.

giving defoliation during flower a try

Well, it isn't that low if you compare it to root mass, assuming it is contained in the partial image of a pot. You see the fire extinguisher to the right? Those aren't cherry tomatoes next to it. It's a decent plant. You can disagree if you see otherwise. For many medical growers, plant counts...

Slightly off topic, but here's a cool tomato setup, plenty of sauce in there though.

Old Toby from Southerh Star Seeds

I have tried a different Old Toby (unknown genetics, but sativa dom). From what I know, it's been back crossed countless times. It's prone to hermie too, but I would attribute that to the breeding program he did. If you're at all interested in reading up on it...

giving defoliation during flower a try

There's something good to be said about keeping it simple (KISS), especially when the "oh so delicious carrot on the stick" draws many with a claimed increase in product. I have enjoyed scrogging it up, although my wife has pointed out that I may have spent more time in the garden than with the...

giving defoliation during flower a try

This is a neat trick, but you gotta watch the plant and don't let it go it too long. From what I've read, and experienced, it will start to lose its nice green color when subjected for too long. Like any stress, there's only so much sitting around and taking it before a plant reacts.

Sorry, I shouldn't accuse you of quoting anyone, I used the wrong word there. It's more like leveraging your credibility with noobs by associating with an article from a popular magazine. It's one thing to be right, it's another to be boastful. And who's judge what's right here? A little pruning...

    The old uvb question

For thin layer, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin-layer_chromatography GC works great for determining compounds present and quantity, but it may impact some results in the fact that it requires the sample to be a vapor... decarboxylation changes percentages from the original ratios.

giving defoliation during flower a try

Do I need to connect the dots, PK? My comment pertained to the credibility of mainstream sources, ones that you're quoting, for example. It had nothing to do with defol being a propaganda campaign, lol. You're smoking a little bit too much there... or reading what you want to read and ignoring...

    The old uvb question

There are several labs up in Washington, such as Analytical360. I know some folks who run a disp in Tacoma who also do in-house testing using gas chromatography. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure what's better for analysis in this instance, thin layer or gas chromatography, any thoughts? RM3...

giving defoliation during flower a try

Also kinda funny how all the most "influential" mainstream sources for news turn out to be garbage propaganda machines. Just because it's popular doesn't mean it bears total authority on the subject. And, as you said yourself, the world's flat vs. round, theories change, as does the science...

    The old uvb question

Yes, and, Yes. This is something that I want to do, but not quite ready to attempt at this very moment. If no one steps up to the plate in the next several months, perhaps I will get to it then.

Low THC/High CBD for my parents - Canada?

Can an out of stater find R4 right now? I was in CO last June and was seeking out a bean or two (as their claimed numbers piqued my interest), and from what I encountered, Greenwerkz was out of both seed and cuttings. Are any co-ops/dispensaries in Colorado carrying it now? It'd be nice to see...

Regardless of the results, it might be arguable that half of the cuts readily available to the avg grower will self -or straight freak and turn pollen sacs.
