its an HID lamp either way small or not theyre gonna generate a considerable ammount of heat and you will need reflectors for your 7-8 small HPS which will cost you more money and waste more light than a single 600 watt hps system this is just my opinion though

youre probably gonna have issues if you use this heat lamp i could be wrong though you can get CFL's for 3$ each at your local walmart a 6 pack for 12$ a half dozen should be sufficient enough light for your 2 plants

i found a nice moist spot back in my woods its an old creek that dried up after digging 2 feet down i saw moisture small ammounts of water if i fill this with my potting soil could i transplant here or is it best to transplant in dry spot. the creek area gets EXCELLENT sunlight.
