why does water sound like a pain in the ass?

Get moisture, PH, and light meter probe at home depot or lowes (about $10) and check your levels in your soil. If you have PH problems with your soil use a ph increaser or reducer designed for soil and gradually adjust your levels over a few waterings. NEVER over-water, it will cause multiple...

Has anyone "successfully" de-nutted a herm?

I think that if you move it to another area away from your other plants it will be okay, just let it bud and smoke it, eh? Anyone think that will be allright?

    Foliar Feeding

Here is my major plant, topped 3 weeks ago. Grown in MG potting soil with perlite, bat quano, and worm castings added. About 6 weeks old, started under cfls for the first 4 weeks (grew slowly). Then switched to a 600 watt hps (grew much faster). Had a few heat issues ran at about 90...

Watering, how often and how much

Excellent response, my pet peave is over-watering. It can and will kill your plants, and you can't take it back. Moisture stress will slow growth, lock up nutes, cause root rot. A moisture meter will help you avoid all of this. +rep for your excellent response!

    first timer. advice please

With that set-up, I would recomment cfl's because of space restictions and heat considerations, a 400w hps will generate quite a bit of heat, so unless you have a good ventilation set-up, cfls will be a bit cooler. Remember, you will need ventilation anyway to exchange the o2 the plants...

    Very slow growth in soil

I used garden soil too, the wife purchased the wrong stuff, so I mixed it down into a super soil mix with bat guano, blood meal, bone meal, perlite,. The problem is that garden soil holds a lot of water an is very slow to dry out. You have to stop watering immediately! Allow the soil to dry...
