    lst training

Because you are trying to keep everything at the same level, height-wise. Naturally, the plant will produce a growth-inhibiting hormone from the topmost shoot, causing all lower branches to grow more outward that upward, forming into a christmas tree shape. By training, you are trying to...

    feminized seed: good or bad?

My experience has been mixed, but feminized seeds do seem sensitive to light leaks. I found using a product called reverse by dutch masters decreased the amount of hermaphrodites and reversed stress hermies. It's a product they use to make seedless watermelons.

    Deep Tissue Culture

I saw something very "advanced" at my local hydro shop today, they had a small lab room set up where they were cloning without mother plants. The guy said it was called deep tissue culture and that they were using stem cells preserved from long-gone mothers to produce new plants in a...

has anyone ever tried this? or think itl work?

Um...no. People grow tomatoes like that because otherwise they will sink to the ground and rot on the plant. Do you have this problem with bud? If you do I'm jelous

    Crossing Cannabis with not Cannabis

According to Mel Frank, cannabis is in the nettle family. Its only really close relative is humulus, the hops plant, which contains its own psychoactive. Grafting cannabis has been tried and does not work well.

    Cutting fan leaves

This forum is such a joke... Does an apple in the shade grow any less than one in the sun? You think you can do better than a century of botanists? :o Look at this pic, 4 buds that developed in ZERO light on the bottom of a dwarf white russian autoflower. These things were in the dirt...

trimming leaves away to let more light to lower buds?

Seriously...anther thread about this? I don't even use this forum often, and I still see so many people asking about this. It will only hurt your yield. Those large leaves are hundreds of times more efficient than bud leaves at photosynthesis. This is BASIC botany, absolutely basic jesus...

what can marijuana cross breed with

Haha, wow some people are dumb. Good for a laugh though. On a serious note, the only thing even close to cannabis is humulus, the hops plant.

A few thoughts on reducing "the stretch"

A 1-1-1 will get you through to the end of flowering. It provides every major nutrient. Is it optimal? No. Plants have different needs at different times and its all about reading what those are and providing it. Most people transition between veg and bloom formulas slowly when you start...

question better suited for an expert.

Yeah...wow. That is an epically bad idea. Hey my friend's sister's cousin's cat has been growing for ten years and swears by feeding plants drano to get better water flow through the stem!

    g13 day 50 flowering

I'd say she's over an O, but barely. Try a more complete fertilizer like the Jack's Classic next time to keep that foliage green. You either had a lack of N or Mg there. Oh and flushing is a waste of time...why would you want to further deprive an obviously already deprived plant? That whole...

    Cutting fan leaves

Uncle Ben is right, this comes up far too much on here. And it's completely counter to logic and BASIC botany. I got .8 oz off a 4 ft plant my first grow because I was stupid and did this. I average an oz a foot leaving the leaves...same room and nute program

I found a match to LED, and CMH (fer the digital users. Like me)

Hightimes had an article about Sunpulse awhile ago. They also offer spinning fixtures of up to 4 lights that rotate like a ceiling fan. Gotta be expensive.

    Affordable Greenhouse Automation

Point taken. I use a static overhead HPS with CFL fixtures as side lighting so I'd forgotten how growing under LED's/CFL's is and how close you want to keep some lights.

    Affordable Greenhouse Automation

My thoughts exactly. My buddies like complicated projects. USB would be optimal since the a serial adapter would be one more thing to include, unless people wanted to use really old laptops. As for automatic light adjustment, just about anything can be controlled, and photosensitive eyes to...

    Affordable Greenhouse Automation

Some people I know are getting into some pretty nifty stuff with these sensor packages they have been getting. From controlling the xbox with a PC to making a remote spy-blimp, this stuff is deceptively simple. Oh and this equipment is as cheap as children's toys. Anyway, who wants a garden...

    Nitrogen!

I dunno, I think he's a genius. Not only does he sell you something incomplete for way more, he sells you something that is likely to induce the under-informed into adding MORE of that product (or another) because they see a deficiency... Sell a gimped product and then provide one that fixes it...

    twin kolahs w/o topping?!?!.pictures shortly

I'll tell you why if you stop bumping your thread... The plant has a growth inhibitor in the topmost growing shoot that makes it the dominant shoot. That is why topping and lst'ing do what they do, they remove or restrict the dominant shoot. Think christmas tree; the lower the branch is and...

Ive read read read and still need help, leaf problems with pics

First two pictures are straight up P deficiency. Dark green to bluish foliage with greyed and burnt margins. Other two pictures are also most likely P deficiency. What are the NPK ratios and ppms being fed to these plants?
