Howsit guys, so I harvested the little Indica on the right and damn it was nice. Not much but nice. It's a bummer that the cutting from that strain died however I managed to pollinate one of my new girls in the box from the pollen in the nanners. The sativa on the left is finishing up this week...

Yeah SA can get very dry and very hot through out the year. Im in Cape Town and conditions here are sort of perfect, except for the fact that Im close to the ocean which might have a severe drop in temp at night. Humidity seems to be good most of the time.

Yep, I have noticed that this also is strain and environment dependent. Some strains are harvested earlier or later also depending on grower preference. I have a buddy that harvested his supercheese when it was clear and milky. No amber whatsoever but damn did that girl reek!! She was done...

lol haha yeah I get what you mean bud, it is quite fascinating how people tend to "calculate" the different stages the trichomes are in according to their percentages. I also go by the overall look of the plant but mainly check trichomes when assessing the finishing stages.

I don't think you should be counting them. I think you should look at the percentage or coverage of milky to amber trichomes.

Yeah thanks bud, the girl on the left looks about 3 more weeks to go and the girl to the right should be done by next week sometime. Just need to keep checking trichomes.

Thanks bud, I hope she smokes as nice as she looks lol. Regarding temp, I previously had high temps and had problems with heat (slow growth and foxtailing, slow trichome production) These were my experiences and it was confirmed by a few. I now have my temps between 25 to 28 degrees celsius...

Update pics. The girl on the right is almost done. Will harvest by next week depending on trichomes: I think the girl on the left has about 3 more weeks to go..... What do you guys think?

Damn that is quite expensive! I guess I will opt for building one or have a buddy build it for me.

Thanks bud, I still have a pure sativa in the outside greenhouse box along with some other girls. Regarding stronger or better lighting, I plan to use those big CFLs of 84watt each as the HPS system draws too much power. Would it be better to go with LED in terms of energy saving?
