I would go with a 600 w lamp, since light output of 600w is only slightly worse than a 1000w, not to mention all the money saved in electricity I have a 600 w hps and here is the bulb I use, I never could justify spending a $100 per bulb. These are only $40, and have never given me any issues...

I never understood why people use lemon juice instead of ph up/down solution. It's much cheaper to just buy the legit ph up/down solution. It's like $10 for a quart and arguably works better.

How many plants? Room size? Lights? Hard to answer the question without more info on your setup. Bottom line though you should be able to get away without adding co2.

You could pick up some ph up/down online too. Probably a lot cheaper than lemon juice too, picked up a quart for like $10.
