I have only full spectrum and soft white. The Full spects are 5000k and the soft whites are somewhere around 2700k. Thanks for the comments guys, They are getting quite cramped. They seem to be putting all thier energy towards the top which makes sense.

A 400W HPS will work, you dont want to use it until the plants are a few weeks old and slowly work it closer to the plants so they build up a tolerance. For the first few weeks just go get a few Bluelight CFL's. The HPS is more of the redlight spectrum which is better to use for flowering but...

The diffrence in the color of the plants also had to do with your eyes reacting to the light.

I imagine it would have to be semi hydroponic with a continuous drip system of some sort.
