    Enough light for seedlings

I have this setup but I have no camera so I made a picture of it. Is this enough light to grow some seedlings? I keep them about 3 inches from these 26w cfls. There's a flat white painted reflector above the lights and once on the end of them at a 45 degree angle.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume they are in the ground not in pot? If they are small seedlings with a small root system you can try to dig them out and put them in little pots to help dry them. thats if the soil isnt too mushy of course, just an idea.

poking as many holes as you can will also help open up the surface area for drying especially deeper towards the roots. no bigger than pen sized holes. gl

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could break the top layer of soil up to help it dry quicker. if you had some kind of long needle you could attach to a bicycle pump. maybe a thin pipe taped to a basketball needle and shove that in the dirt at a 45 degree angle and pump air into the ground below your plant. move spots every...

    Computer Case.

dude, all you need to do is to use a computer fan wired to a 12v power adapter thingy that you might get from an old Nintendo, computer speakers, or some other appliance. You know those little black boxes that plug into walls that have a thin wire. Find one as close to 12v as you can and connect...

Strip the inside and get a rectangular pot to fit nicely and one thats not too tall you can bend the plant all around the edge of the pot with LST and you'll be surprised how nice it'll turn out. advice for new grower

Don't forget that you need a minimum of 2000 Lumens per square foot of grow space. 4000 Lumens is the optimum tho. So since a 26 watt CFL is about 1700 lumens, you would need a minimum of 4 for a 2x2 foot grow space considering that the plant(s) don't fill up the whole 4 square foot space. But...

    advice for new grower

That's true. Ventilation is complication and harder to control temperature and they use more energy too. Actually tho.... The UVB lights are not a replacement to HPS. They are a different light spectrum. The low KELVIN CFLs are like 2300 to 3500, and are the red spectrum, the bulbs are cream...

    advice for new grower

these are some well price lights: Amazon.com: Zoo Med ReptiSun Compact Fluorescent UVB Lamp: Kitchen & Dining I think that the more you can have the better, but you also need the other spectrum lights also. So if you have 4-6 sockets; then 2 would be good. They are 26 watt. What are you using...

    advice for new grower

Nice, but you def do need more light. And try to keep the lights as close as you can to 2 inches from the tops. Chlorine takes about a day to evaporate from tap water. They are stretching because of the lack of light. A DIY reflector with 4 lights would be your best bet. So you can switch out...
