Say for example I want a 600watt HPS grow, is it better to get 1 600watt light or 4 150watt lights to evenly spread the light? Cab would be around 10 sq ft (4'x2.5') Will be growing at least 20 from clones on hydro.

I guess there are dormant seeds, and there are dead seeds. All my old seeds (10) failed to germ with different methods- I tried hydrogen peroxide, rooting hormone, dilute ferts. Had 100% success rate with my old grow. I'll just order new seeds.

Reviving this thread... Air carbon filters are not available in my area. Water carbon filters are widely available. Since water filters have too little carbon in them, can I just buy activated carbon from fish stores and add it to this? Or is it easier to do a diy filter once I get hold...

Hmm, I wonder why the manual of my PH Pen doesn't say anything about storing with a solution. Mine reads temperature also- could it be that the thermometer can't be stored in that solution? Between PH & temp, I'd rather keep the PH pen working.

Same question. I'll be using coco/perlite medium and I would like to put a filter on the return line. Just a fine foam or a fine mesh cloth. Is it a bad idea? Will it somehow "filter" out the nutes too?

I don't know about Grow LEDs, but the prices for household LEDs are going down already. For now I'm sticking with HID, but still waiting on the progress of LEDs. Would be great to have low consumption, low heat- given that the purchase price becomes reasonable.
