Do you use a scrubber/carbon filter?

Sorry for the weird question, but I couldn't find the answer in my search. Reason I asked is I live in an apartment, and I am occupying the top floor (5th). No neighbors on the same floor, and no other apartment in the vicinity, just small houses. If odor rises, will I get away with...

Any updates? I'm also thinking of doing this coz recirculating the hot air in the room raises the temp too much. Also, you think I can do away with a scrubber if I vent to the ceiling? Removing the extra restriction will really help my temps without having to buy a bigger fan

My lights are ON at NIGHT and I get low 80s temps in the cab. Lights are OFF during the DAY, but because of the outside temps during the day, my cab is in the low 90s. Should I be concerned about heat stress if it's only half the time? I have feminized plants and I'm really worried about...

Not exactly the same, but somewhat similar... My grow cab is in my bedroom, which I share with my wife. Will 2 adults provide enough CO2? My cab's intake is taken from the room.

Great thread. My RH plays around 60-80% (temps 80-90) and I'm looking for solutions as well.. I wonder if adding another unit will reduce it by another 8%. Probably not coz based on your post, it's less effective when the RH is lower. Does that mean that we can not achieve 40-50% humidity...

I've seen cone filters that are bigger- with more space inside to put activated carbon. Is that better, or will having too much carbon restrict the airflow? Otherwise, I'll just stick with the same cone filter as the TS.

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately, where I'm from, sending/shipping the filter is much more expensive than the price of the filter itself. That's why I'm resorting to DIY or other alternatives.

We can speculate about many scenarios that can happen, but the bottomline is your grow has been "exposed". I wouldn't grow there again.

Just found out today that one of the main components of Perlite is silicon!

Just found this site that sells Powdered Silica Fertilizer. The one I found in my earlier post was just a silica powder (this 1 claims to be specifically for plants- whether it's the same banana, I can't tell). I haven't tried them yet, so I can't vouch for them, but they've got cheap stuff...

To those who understand chemistry better than I do: Just wondering guys, since there is potassium in our nutes already, can I just put silica instead of potassium silicate? Where I'm from, pure Silica powder is easier to get (for make-ups- I think women actually put them on their faces)...

Wow that's good to know, and that gives me hope! I moved recently and never anticipated heat issues in my grow. My outside temps are 85-88. Temp in the cab is around 95 wid 150 watt MH. I'm adding more vents and fans to try to lower the temp even more, but it's very hard given the high outside...
