My closet temps run anywhere between 68 and 80, all depending on where I set the speed control. I pretty much keep it set at about 78 all the time. Not really sure how your fan would do with a 400.

I would still look for a way to vent out of the attic. Even if you had to go up there with a hole saw or a drill and perforate a 6" hole . I would think that Blowing into the drywall, the smell will still permeate out somewhere in the house.
