What's a good container for storing and pouring nutrients?

Great suggestions. Thank you all. I never thought about any of these...how silly. I like the pump idea, I just have to see if I can find one to fit the jug of H&G nutes. It seems like an odd size, but I'll measure it. The turkey baster and squeeze bottle ideas should work too. Maybe I'll just...

What's a good container for storing and pouring nutrients?

How are you liking them? Got a link by chance? I always assumed nutrients needed to be stored in total darkness, is that the case?

Calcium Hypoclorite (pool shock) do you use it ?

Both. I would keep the concentration very low if you're using it in a cloner because I've killed clones this way. The stems die, turn a very pale green, and hollow out if you use too much. If you're having infection problems in your cloner like I did, I would give it a good thorough cleaning...

What's a good container for storing and pouring nutrients?

I tend to buy my nutrients in bulk because it's a bit less hassle this way, but the containers are very ungainly for pouring small mL amounts. I always lose some solution because of the way the mouth of the container is designed - it dribbles down the side when I pour. I thought about pouring a...

    A little root separation dilemma

Thanks for the input aknight3! Good to hear from someone who's been through this. I've chopped roots with vegging plants to a certain extent, and they do tend to recover and grow new roots, but I never attempted it with plants this far into flower before. The worst scenario would be if they...

    A little root separation dilemma

The situation is this: I have several plants that are about 3 weeks into flower in a 6" PVC tube being misted in a LP aero setup. The plants have stretched ridiculously and have overgrown my light. The long and short of it is that I have small vegged plants of a different (better) strain that...

MY DIY 21st Century 'Flood' & Drain

Yeah it does get rather cramped in those 6" tubes after a few weeks. I even had one get plugged up and overflow one time. Didn't know until morning...cleanup was not cool at all! You are correct, it's basically a glorifies flood and drain with mist heads. I have a 3000 gph pump that cycles on...

MY DIY 21st Century 'Flood' & Drain

Yeah I've had several of the Costco brand LED's fail as well! I thought it must have something to do with the wiring in my walls but I guess they must be shoddily made. Sounds like the the Home Depot brand ones are similar. The ones from Costco are made by a company called Feit Electric. I don't...

MY DIY 21st Century 'Flood' & Drain

I gotcha :) Great system you have built, I am impressed with it's elegance and simplicity! Are accumulators very expensive? I briefly did a search for them on google and ebay and there are like a million different varieties and pressure ratings. They seemed to range from $50 all the way up to...

    Labeling your plants

So I was wondering how you guys out here go about keeping track of your plants? I take a piece of Scotch tape, fold the ends over on themselves just slightly so there is a non sticky area that I can use to pull the tape apart, then sandwich the stem as I fold the tape in half, sticking it to...

MY DIY 21st Century 'Flood' & Drain

Wonderful thread Flora! I will probably be creating some version of this myself. I was going to do DWC buckets with air stones but it is such a pain in the ass to change the solution on multiple buckets every week not to mention all the nutrient solution that gets used. It's really inefficient...

    Fastest strain with diesel nose?

Exactly. I'm talking about the real pinesol/jet fuel/kerosene smell that diesel is so famous for. A lot of diesels now are hybrids or crosses and have a fruity citrus type of smell. And that's cool, but not really what I'm looking for.

    Fastest strain with diesel nose?

Any one in particular because I've heard mixed things about time with headband. The smell is definitely what I'm looking for, very diesely. Some say it's quick and others say long. Which breeder did you use for yours?

    Fastest strain with diesel nose?

Fatty R Buckle haha! Great username :) Thanks for the suggestion, that seems to be the exact type of strain I'm looking for: a quick diesel smelling beast, the higher yielding the better but I'll take what I can get. That's beautiful man!

    The Main-Lining Thread

Page 9 is one of my favorites :) I see what he was saying about the bends being at the same level. The Ace of Spades he was working with seems particularly suited to mainlining. I have a few more sativa-ish ones that are not as good, so actually I was just bending the apical stem, while leaving...

Do you find that vegging under HPS makes the node spacing further apart, or the plants stretchier? btw I just defoliated two apical stems and tied them down with wire...let the main-lining begin!

    The Main-Lining Thread

Thanks geekmike! I never thought to take the fan leaves off, but that does make sense. I'm playing around with different lights to see which makes the tightest nodes. I've heard plasma does a nice job with node structure, but I don't own one....yet...lol I like to take my clones from the top...
