Not terribly experienced or anything but I read somewhere that it helps to gently shake the excess water off of your plants when the rain stops.

I think that the point is, if you are growing in a 'soil' medium, is that chlorine does not discriminate which types of bacteria to kill. Meaning that if you do not take measures to remove or lessen chlorine levels in your water you could be killing the beneficial microbeasties in your medium...

Thanks for the replies. I will try the compost tea as that is readily available and wouldn't take at least a month to get here. At least I got most of the bugs out of the soil dumping a couple in with the compost tea shouldn't be too bad I think.
