Buying complete easily doubles the price. I was looking at a 4 COB (Citizen CL48 1818s) DIY ~ 250. You cannot find a 4 COB prebuilt system for that price. My quantum DIY build is slightly more than that, but it will have better light spread.

I also have a 2x4 that I'm putting LED into. I'm going with 3 quantum boards. If I were going with COBs, I would run at least 4.

Do you have slate 1 or slate 2 on them, and how hot are they at the heatsink?

Those buck converters ought to be in a housing to shield them from moisture and dust. Otherwise I'm not knowledgeable to comment, but I love the deep-down DIY feel. Keep rocking it!

Makes sense to me. It's a tent based breather room and corridor. A little pricey, but it could be effective. You might want to thing about a 5x9 tent, though. That extra foot perimeter will make it easier to move around and vent the 2x4 tents that tend to have in/out ports on the sides rather...

If it's not too much volume, you can dry in tall, thin moving boxes with wire strung inside them. Otherwise, dry wherever you normally would (besides the tent with the live plants.

I agree that a 240 series (especially with a 250w output) are probably all I need. However, I would rather have room to grow (such as adding another QB to gain efficiency and light spread) than be limited. I will be getting an A series driver, with built-in dimmer, and plan to dim things from...

I have them already, it gives better light spread in the 2x4, and it means I can run the QB288s softer and more efficiently.

This is roughly the same size I am planning for, except I will be running 3x QB288 and a bar of 10x warm white xml-2 in a 2x4x7. For drivers I am considering a 320 series, so if I want/need to exceed 250w I can. They are only 30ish more dollars.

The QB site says "Max 1050mA with QB304 Board with no airflow" for the Slate 1, which I will have. Can I run more mA on a QB288, or with a dialed down driver (like HLG-320H-54A)?

Fair point. As close to that as possible, then, with the option to dim down to ~90w/board. I recall @robincnn saying that was the sweet spot for the 304s on the @Growmau5 chat video.

Close to max, I would think, for my 2x4 tent. I also have a supplemental row of Cree xml-2 warm whites, from a rapidled kit.
