When I mix cali magic to instruction, I get about 400 ppm on the 700 scale. I'm thinking you're on the deficient end. This pics look like classic ca/mg deficiency. Mix silica first, then ca/mg, then nutes - then adjust pH to 5.8 for DWC.

I run an Under Current 6 pot RDWC and I added an extra pump and an extra air stone to each module. I ran the pump to a different outlet in case one tripped, hopefully the other pump would stay running. But also, the diffusers that came with it just weren't putting out much, so I beefed it up.
