Help locating pressure regulator/flow restrictors for drip setup

I have a drip system with 1/2" tubing going to a ball valve at each plant with an 8" drip ring. I have it in a loop with a ball valve just before it returns to the rez so I can regulate the overall pressure. Then I set the drip rates about the same and timed how long it took to get runoff. I...

    PH Meter reminder !

That's weird that it drifts like that. I have the blue labs guardian - I think that's the model... It stays in the rez 24/7 and monthly I do a 24 hr recharge with KCl, recalibrate - and back in the rez. I've been using this one for about a year and so far so good. It reminds me monthly to...

    PH Meter reminder !

Let it soak for 24 hours in a container of KCl solution - then recalibrate. It will likely stay in cal better.

    PH Meter reminder !

I went to school for water treatment engineering and pH probe calibration and maintenance was drilled into us. The meter works by an ion exchange through the glass tip. There's a tiny ceramic embedded in the glass that allows ions to flow in and out of the probe. The glass is full of KCl...

    Water chillers?

I was absolutely one of the anti-bennies-in-DWC folks until I ran this experiment. I didn't want to trust my entire crop with an experiment, so I did this. I honestly wouldn't have switched if I hadn't seen it for myself. It caused a complete 180 in my views on it.

    Water chillers?

I ran my comparisons in 5 gal DWC buckets with an air stone in each. On top of that - to really push it - I didn't change the nutes for the entire veg cycle - I just topped with RO or fresh nutes as needed. I don't recommend doing that - but I had the space and more plants than I needed so I...

    Water chillers?

I run a 6 pot Under Current - 56 gallons, with a 64 gallon rez under a pair of HPS. I didn't say do away with aeration - I know you need DO... I'm saying that with beneficials, root rot is kept in check and there is plenty of DO without the need for a chiller. I ran side by side comparisons of...

    What is going on..Help!!!!!

Agreed - same... My LED's get super close to the tops - maybe 6 - 8" and they are happy. Always keep straight nutes in the rez - except maybe a flush at the very end.

show and tell about your automated drip/sprayer systems

Here's mine. I have a 2 x 8 tray, a 2 x 3 - and a 4 x 8. I have a 1/2" feed line with 8" drip rings on each plant (in 10 gal smart pots) with a valve at each plant and one at the end of the line. There is a check valve at the output of each rez (water and nutes) so that they can both share the...

Flush in DWC, how did my water go from 150 to 1200 ppm?

It's simple osmosis and diffusion. Bacteria can't create ppm's out of nowhere - and in hydroponics the nutrients are ALREADY available to the plants in a liquid form and do NOT need to be broken down first. That's the whole idea of hydroponics... During most of the plant's life, the ionic...

When you clone from a flowering plant is goes through a reveg process where it goes down to 1 leaf and loses it's serrations. It will come back around in time

8 place UC DIY build - parts/price list

Those raindrip filters are a finer mesh than the ones that UC supplies. I have a UC as well as a system that I also built, based on their design - and that filter plugged every day. Screens that fine are meant for clean water and the root material will plug it every day. I'm still trying to find...
