I think that would be too small, you would have no room for a light or a plant for that matter. Yes, in small spaces CFL's do get hot. I had 5 in a 3x3 box and the temps would climb close to 100 without proper venting. There are lots of options for stealth grows depending on your space...

Mylar is a reflective material that people use in grow rooms. The Blankets are a little different but do a decent job. they come in small folded up packages.

Better lights can give you a couple ounces per plant, but you're looking at a couple hundred bucks for that.

If grown right, maybe around an ounce.

They won't be the best, but they will be yours. More light is always a plus. if you can afford to upgrade do it. You can always add light as you go.

and don't use tin foil, does not reflect as well as people think and can burn the plants. look for mylar, a cheap solution is to grab a few emergency blankets from walmart. there in the sporting goods section and are pretty cheap.

CFL's are the spiral energy saving bulbs. for 3-6 plants 1000 watts would be overkill, a 400 or 600 Hps would give you some good light and good smoke. Check the thread for the 600 watt club, some nice grows over there.

You can always improve, you'll understand that soon. Like I said, try'em out, see what you need to change for the next grow and then go balls deep.

You know my first grow was in a 3 ft high box with 5 CFL bulbs and got a few ounces between 2 plants. Again this is your first grow, learn what you can and hopefully you'll get some smoke at the end. You're next grow you'll update your setup and the next you'll do it again. Just read around...

Well give them a shot, just keep'em close the the plants without burning the plants. Put your hand between the the bulbs and the plants, if it's too hot for your hand it's too hot for your plants.

Smaller pots would work also, I was under the impression you were growing with 1000 watt HPS. Maybe 2-3 gallon pots

And with shop lights, you could run them 24 hrs if you want.

Lowe's, Walmart, Kmart they all should have them

shop lights are not close to 1000 watts, but they will work. With shop lights heat shouldn't be a issue at all so the fans will do their job. Just keep them a few inches from the tops of the plants and raise them as the plants get bigger.

Miracle grow if you want, I use the all purpose and the Bloom. If you have a hydro store close by you may want to look into some better nutes. I only suggest miracle grow cause you can buy it at walmart.

Like I said, search the site if you have any issues, there are a lot of people who know more than I do. I can get you the basics, but as you go you may want more experienced growers to give you advice.
