There is defiantly THC in the leaves of marijuana plants. I often will pinch a few leaves off a growing plant when I am between harvest and smoke them. I have also made many a brownie out of leaves and those will get you completely wasted. In fact I just made some leaf brownies last weekend

Your temp will mostly likely go up with the HPS lights as they put out alot of heat so you will need to setup some kind of exhaust vent.

It's hard to tell from those pics but from what I could see I would place the problem as either ph or nutburn. I would do a flush and feed plain ph'ed water for 2-3 days than slowly add nutes back. Hope this helps Good Luck

If I had to choose between 400 MH and 1000 HPS for veg and electricity was no issue I would go with the 1000 HPS. I know the light spectrum isn't Ideal for veg but there is so much more light it would keep your nodes close and grow your plants faster than the 400 mh.

that sucks you have had suck trouble cloning. Rockwool cubes planted in soil won't cause any problem with watering or root rot anything when planted in soil. I wouldn't cut them in in half but there is no reason you couldn't and be just fine. Hope this helps out a GOOD luck

"1 cfl 100w equivalent" that's not enough light Multiply that by 10 and it still won't be enough but it will multiply your yield by at least 10.
