I'd like to see some pics of these "tea" plants to see their overall health. I'm betting they aren't looking very good.

Do not add vinegar to your water without a PH meter to test afterwards. Even a very small amount can drastically lower the PH in a gallon of water and bring you to levels you don't want to be. This is the meter I use and it has worked well for me so far, and it's dirt cheap...
