what's up y'all. just a small update. I had a few plants that were stuck in neutral. with a little more confidence in my green thumb I decided to empty their net pots. rockwool was still soaked. roots couldn't breathe. I adjusted the net pot at the expense of rockwool sitting above hydroton...

i have a 300w galaxy hydro in my veg tent and it's 18" from the canopy... I just picked up two 600w galaxy hydros for my flower tent... what do you guys use for your flowering?

is your medium some rockwool grow chunks? BTW, I'm strongly considering ebb and flow table in veg, and a flo n gro system for flower... does that mean I can't write in the DWC category anymore? :cry:

thanks I did just that - dipped a q tip in the res and scrubbed em down to remove little gunk chunks. here's an updated photo from the same girl I showed before with the discoloration. roots aren't white but they are (relatively) uniformly colored now. are they okay or is this a problem?

i hear ya mate... i get relatively happy with my plants then see some videos online of things with mega stalks and pictures on here and get plant envy... i think it just takes practice!

folks, I took a look at the roots... it appears to me that there are still larger "chunks" of gunk between a couple of the roots. will that go away in another day, or is there something i should do to try to clean them off?

and I added another air stone. and covered any gap light could sneak through on lid. its a clear tote on the sides though not sure that matters?

so you suggest I get rid of all nutes? after two days put the nutes back in? I thought you put h2o2 in every couple days too? or is that just preventative and I need to treat this differently? edit update: I changed out the res. it has only water and h2o2, and not the full dosage it suggests...

@3squared what's a root system protector? I went out and bought some h2o2 today and applied it to the res as well as the top feed solution. hoping this can kill the slime off the roots and any algae that came loaded on the clones to begin with. I do see some slight green buildup in res along...

just noticed some discoloration on the roots of my healthiest girl. is this root rot? what can I do to thwart it? is there too much light getting to it maybe? highly oxygenated, water temp is 69ish...

i bought my two tents, nutes, clone incubator, a couple 1000w lights and ballasts (which I sold for LED), timers, pH stuff, blah blah blah, all off one dude on craigslist. i've sure bought a lot of shit since then, but it saved me money for shit that i would have had to have purchased anyway.
