Vaping does stretch the bud pretty darn good. I say you get at least twice as many tokes. And you can take break, even overnight, fire it up later and get a nice high. That being said, for quick effect, smoking is probably fastest.

Don't smoke whole buds. Doesn't work very good. Grind it. Or pull it apart with your fingers. Or use scissors. Putting a whole bud in your pipe is like trying to light a piece of wood with a lighter.
