look for salt build up on the top of the soil or on the sides of your pots. Last time i had salt build up it was noticable on the insides of the pots and then i made sure i flushed my soil out w/ plain water and Final Phase

Ive had great success w/ both types of grows but hydroponics is way more work than soil in my opinion. If you want something that you dont have to mess w/ all the time then id stay w/ the soil grows

put duct tape around your 4" flex duct then put the 4" clamp around it. I had my flex duct tearing from where my clamps were tightened down until i put duct tape around it and that stopped the tearing of my flex duct

2 gal pots seems like a good size for the area and light system that you have
