If you will buy Rubbermaid "Tuff" plastics, you will do better and they don't split as often. Speaking of splitting - If you will build a wooden tray that hugs the bottom and doesn't let it expand as much, the splitting will be minimized.

Example of dumbass: UltraLEDlights is a web based company that is trying to tell people that because they have met all the color ingredients, that they have "Full spectrum" lights for growing. BULLSHIT!!!!! they show a kelvin scale but ain't it funny that you don't see LED's on that scale...

No matter what anyone says: LED's are a form of laser light and that is why there is not a kelvin rating or temperature (color) rating. They suck!! Just like the people that sell them to all the unsuspecting young growers.

Johnnnnnn - LED's are laser light and therefore are not spectrally correct for our use. This is also why they do not have a kelvin rating. Bright light is the same thing as a shiny object to a moron.

Great idea Panhead - How about the "Filtrete" carbon filters instead of the Scotchbrite? It has much better flow and the added benefit of more carbon. Filtrete is sold at all mojor home improvement stores and is like 22"x20' allowing for more folding if needed for sizing. it does cost more but...
