Black paint won't help that much. I tried the same thing with some of that semi-rigid flexible ducting that stays in position and even using flat black paint, light still will leak. Try putting another 90 degree bend in the duct itself.

Thanks. So here's a shot to show scale a little better. I took the PE and shot outside of the tent. I put a standard 5 gallon bucket next to it for scale. The two stakes I'm using are standard 48" garden stakes.

I probably topped them somewhere around 4-5 times I think. They are in 2 gallon containers. I'm actually glad they aren't in bigger containers or I'd be in a world of hurt trying to flower them in this tent.

I tried a Nextgen ballast but the fans started making a grinding noise and then I started smelling a burnt smell. I need to pull it apart and see how difficult/expensive it would be to replace the fans. Replaced with a Lumatek. All my store had was the dimmable with the "Super Lumens" setting...

What ballast are you using? The biggest one I could find was a Fulham Workhorse 7 but that's only rated for three 55w bulbs though it's rated for four 50w bulbs.
