imo...the problem u will run into by growing 5 4-foot plants under a 250W light is light penetration... with a light that size its much better to grow shorter bushier plants than to try to grow the monsters.. like i said, just an opinion, i'm not an expert

Up until now I have been using CFL lights and plan on upgrading to an HID light. After looking around, i've noticed that the HID conversions are $50-100 more than just MH or HPS... are they worth the extra coin? I'm thinking of either getting a 600W HPS or a 400W conversion, anyone have any...

i'm in the market for a 400/600 HPS system... the cheapest system i can get in any hydroponic store within a 2 hour drive is ~300-400$... i've seen alot of cheap deals for HPS lighting systems on ebay and other hydroponic stores in the US though... what i'm asking is if anyone knows of any US...

the seeds that you are germinating, how did u come upon them, from a buddy or ordered?.. the last seeds i used were ordered and went 20/20 success but the first time i tried with seeds from a friend i had no luck at all cause the seeds werent mature enough... what do/did your seeds look like?

i've had good luck by using a humity dome too, just place it on top, spray the clones 2x a day, the rockwool cube stayed nice and moist for the 3 weeks... i also like using the cubes with a larger hole in the middle so u have to 'press' the sides in around the cutting, had better success with...

alrighty, i'll try that for this grow then, i guess my logic was that if i went out and bought an HID light i could use the CFL's when i have clones and such and use the HPS to flower, that way i could have two smaller grow rooms going, one for veg and one for flower

Being a student, i'm on a very restricted budget.. i've mainly only grown outdoors but want to try my hand indoors as well... i went first with 6 CFL bulbs but after much reading, i've noticed that 6 CFL's wont get u too far so i'm faced with a problem.. is it worth it to switch to an HPS light...

Depending on your situation, i.e. hieght/space/time restrictions, anytime after 4-6 weeks in a seedlings life you can turn the lights to 12/12.. just be sure to transplant before 12/12 or within the first week, maybe two weeks of 12/12 to avoid damaging the plant. how long has your plant been...

lol, damn kids, the quick answer is yes, if u let a plant bud for to long the thc will degrade over time but i wouldnt be worried about that in your case, most people think their plants are ready to harvest well before they really are.. if u can, get your hand on a magnifying glass/microscope...

before u worry about that plan i suggest potting those seedlings seperatley, sooner the better... it will save u many headaches... i've also read that if seedlings arent veg'd long enough they wont be as potent when harvested.. not sure on that fact tho, would love some to confirm/dispel that rumor

Those green ones might not sprout, the brown seeds are usually more viable than green..

that would not be the best idea, let it take its course now, the only way u could re-veg it would be to bring it inside which would stress it badly, maybe causing a hermie, dont need that now do u.. imo just leave her outside and harvest it when its ready

right now i have 20 seedlings under some CFL's... i would like to veg and flower using HPS.. my grow room is 3.5'x4'x6' and i plan to keep only the best 1-2 fems from each strain... i'm wondering if a 250W light is large enough or if i should bump up to 400W? also, how far from the canopy does...

it'd be easier to see with pics, you'd get a difinite answer very quickly, how many new growths are there on the clone.. just one? my buddies dog ate almost 15g of weed about a month ago, funniest thing in the world, thought about givin her some shroom tea but we didnt wanna screw her up too bad..

Is it realistic to expect a harvest by christmas? (from seeds)... the seedlings are about 3 days old now so i would have to veg for about a month and then hope to have them finished flowering in about 50 days to have some bud ready for christmas/new years.. or would that be pushing a tiny plant...

this may seem like a stupid question but does topping generally produce a plant with more bud or just a plant with the same amount of bud, with the only difference being that one plant would be short and bushy compared to taller and more slender
