sounds like you need another fan blowing cool air in at the opposite end to where u suckout... dude its all about blowing air over your bulb and sucking it out the other end....check my pics....my plants are only 3-4 inches from my hps with no burn....i suck cool air in and a fan blows it...

2 pc fans per bulb, one blowing the other sucking, all hotwired into the biggest 12v transformer u got...fans run between .12 and .2 milliamps and if your lucky you got one in your cupboard rated at 1000ma...BINGO everything cool for no pennies...garage/boot sales always good for old trannys
