If you are only growing a couple of plants you might be better served with something like 100w cfl's up top and other ones on the sides alternating spectrums since you could get intense lights to all parts of the plants . If ventilation/heat or $$ is a problem cfl's are the way to go . There...

    Test Run - good results

My first run in over a decade but had years and years of practice before my break . I had started 4 and ended up with 2 chicks . I had and still have intentions of a 600HPS but had to buy a lawnmower as well as brakes and rotors for my car . I only want to go to the grow store once and want to...

    Transplanting during flowering

I missed this the first read . These are the reasons I was thinking it wasn't a good idea - if I would of thought to do it a week ago when they were still growing up it wouldn't of been much of a thought . Now they are 2 weeks in the upward growth is slowing and they are starting to bud not...

    Transplanting during flowering

They aren't root bound but I am sure the pots are filled with roots considering the growing medium . I am trying to maximize bud . Any know for sure ? Have experience with it ?

    Transplanting during flowering

I just started growing after over a decade break so I am a bit rusty on my knowledge . I have only 2 plants in flowering at the moment . They are 2 weeks in in 3 gallon pots . I am wondering if I transplant into 5 gallon if it will shock them or if root growth has pretty much stopped and it...

    NEW cfl grow

Look for something like Pro-Mix and mix that with your MG soil . It is ph treated moss , perlite and vermiculite . You can squeeze and shake off a lot of that old soil - it should do more good than harm . It may shock it a bit but you can lessen that with a shot of seaweed or something . MG...

My first real grow: hydroponic CFL stealth!!

I have seen it all now . Dick wagging on a pot site - ahaha . To claim there is one way and only one way shows ignorance . Really , I am embarrassed for you .

    NEW cfl grow

Your soil looks way too thick . If I were you I would mix some Pro-Mix or something in there to lighten it up so a lot more oxygen gets to those roots as well as letting it drain better and letting the roots work through easier .

    storing seeds & buds

When I lived in West Virginia a lot of the old cats would bury their buds in the clay in mason jars and would dig them up years later and they were still good .

    Miricle Grow for nutes?

I used to grow all organic but now do mostly organic . I will start a grow as soon as these clones are ready with MG vs some other all organic nutrients . You tell me if you can tell the difference . I used to think I knew it all but found out I didn't . Also , to me it looks like the...

HPS lighting question; height from plant tops

About 18" . It is better to have the light on a chain or something so you can control the height . You could go less if smaller light and good air flow .

How to put a cord on T5

Well , drank some Bourbon to get my nerve up and did the black-black-black , white-white-white , and green-green-grey/red and it works ! If any electricians see this please tell me if this is safe . I stripped the ends and used the plastic caps and put waterproof electric tape around them ...
