Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

From what I understand, self seeding autos will most likely produce auto seeds, but I suppose there’s always room for genetic mutations depending on how far back the line goes…

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

@curious2garden if I knew what I did to get 17+ mature seeds out of this plant I'd tell you. If it's a genetic predisposition, well that might explain why these were 'give-away' free seeds from Seedsman. Pretty stoked to have an abundance of these seeds now, regardless.

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

In your experience, what kind of stress has caused seeding?

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

Interesting. I'm noticing the seeds appearing lower on the buds as well.

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

I'm only into the first week of curing so it's hard to say just yet. Smells like Tropicana Orange Juice, though, so that's nice. Was super easy to grow and produced over 2 ounces in a 3gal pot (despite my over feeding) so I'd recommend it just based on the grow. Hell I'd give you these seeds if...

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

Interesting! Yes, that could very well be the case. I'm not tripping out over this - just curious

Don't be that guy. Never said my environment was "perfect"

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

Ok now here's a twist - in the same tent I was also growing Sweet Seeds CBD Red Auto and I just found two seeds in that flower as I was burping the jars! Either it's a coincidence that these are both genetically predisposed to herming, or it's a reaction to nutrient toxicity...or some other...

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

Aaah so that’s how it’s done

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

Well these are autos so I’m not sure light leaks would be an issue - they were also on 18/6 the whole time. What’s CS and STS?

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

…And I only know this because I’m running photos at the same time and they got stunted pretty bad. They’ve since recovered but I was giving all plants the same amounts so I’m sure it was the faster flower time that saved the auto

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

External conditions were pretty normal (light, temp, humidity, water) but I did overfeed with calcium and magnesium…because this was an auto I managed to get to harvest before any big issues had a chance to develop. Would nutrient toxicity make a plant produce seeds?

Seedsman Northern Lights Auto - Hermie Seeds

I just harvested a Northern Lights Auto from Seedsman and I'm finding upwards of 10+ seeds as I'm curing. I've read that these are all going to be female seeds, but figured I'd ask the community. Anybody have experience in this domain and can confirm the gender of these seeds?

Does too much Nitrogen lock out Phosphorous?

So just to circle back on this for my own reference and for anyone who is interested - it would appear I went crazy with the roots organic Cal/Mag and that created a P/K lockout. The Malawi was more sensitive than the Dougs Varin and actually first began showing signs of distress weeks before...

Does too much Nitrogen lock out Phosphorous?

Just flushed and checked runoff - wait for it… ph is at about 7.2 but ppm is saying 2800…it’s the first time I’ve checked ppm so not sure if this reservoir that is catching the running shows a cumulative number over time or how accurate this is, but it would definitely explain a lot of the...

Does too much Nitrogen lock out Phosphorous?

This is great - thanks for sharing. I see molasses also has calcium and iron…probably contributing to the overdose. I keep trying to give these plants that “extra boost”…I think I just need to do a normal fucking run.

Does too much Nitrogen lock out Phosphorous?

Based on that Mulder chart, it seems possible that I’ve overdone it with the Calcium and Magnesium and incited a greater demand/deficiency in Phosphorous. I’m actually noticing some subtle rust spots on the Dougs Varin now as well so I’m going to cut the Cal/Mag out for a few weeks and see what...

Does too much Nitrogen lock out Phosphorous?

Is this a commentary on the molasses or a general disbelief that I’m aware of everything I’m doing wrong?

Does too much Nitrogen lock out Phosphorous?

Can you expand on that - as in, do you have experience overdoing it with molasses and/or is it widely known to cause specific issues under specific circumstances?
