In my experience, it can take upwards of 2 months to reveg. Leaving a few buds is somewhat critical also, as your new growth will develop from there. I don't reveg often, but when I do, I try to leave some lower buds close to the main stem, hit em fairly heavily with veg nutes and hammer em with...
