They look wet because they were just watered yesterday. I know for a fact that the soil was dry, but my question is how do I know if my rockwool cubes in the soil are dry? I like the idea of watering from the bottom up, I will def. do that next time. But I am still wondering how to check the...

Bump! If I have small rockwool cubes in soil then how do I know when the rockwool is dry? I can tell when the soil is dry already, which I guess is how I overwatered. Do I have to dig the soil out around the cube to tell when the rockwool cube itself is dry? Will this disrupt the roots? If so...

Please help me quick!!!!!!!! Good explanation and PICS

So do I actually have to dig the dirt from around the cubes to see if they are still wet? This won't disrupt the roots or anything if they are shooting out the sides of the cubes? How else would I know if the rockwool is dry and not just the soil dry itself? Thank you!!!!

Please help me quick!!!!!!!! Good explanation and PICS

Just wanted to say again that it looks like overwater a little bit to me, but the plants in rockwool cubes only go down about 1 1/2'' into the soil. I made sure the first few inches of soil were pretty dry before watering again

Please help me quick!!!!!!!! Good explanation and PICS

Ok heres whats going on. I got some clones from a local dispensary. They were in small rockwool cubes with nice, thick, white healthy roots popping out of the bottom. I got home and put them in some fox farm ocean forest soil on Friday. I watered them with water only, no nutes. They were ready...

Lucas formula using fox farm ocean forest soil

you can use the flora series in soil. I know people who have used the lucas formula in soil, I was just wondering what the ratios would be using tap water with a ppm of 270. I would assume instead of using the regular 0-5-10 for veg, I would do something like a 0-4-8 or maybe even a 0-3-6. I am...

Lucas formula using fox farm ocean forest soil

Ok I was wondering if someone could help me customize a feeding schedule using the Lucas formula and the FF ocean forest soil. First of all the Lucas formula is for RO water? Mh tap water is already at about 270 ppm plus whatever the soil has in it already. Should I do something more like 0-4-8...

    Question regarding tap water ppm

Any other advice out their? What other nutrients in the tap water should I find out about? Besides the ones I already listed? I wasn't sure what to ask for so I just asked about the ingredients that were in the general hydro flora series, wasn't sure if I should find out the ppm for anything...

    Question regarding tap water ppm

So how would I compensate my feeding ratio to water if I already have tap water ppm of 270? 75% or how would I calculate that to get as close as possible? Thanks again for the feedback! Also, should I know the ppm for anything else in my tap water besides the info I already got?

    Question regarding tap water ppm

Also, when I am mixing my nutes in 5 gallons of water following the mild growth section of the feeding scale, how would I go about mixing the correct amount of nutes considering what's already in my water? Should I still follow the general hydro feeding scale or do I need to put less of any of...

    Question regarding tap water ppm

Ok so I was trying to figure out what the ppm reading would be for my tap water without using a ppm meter. I called the water district and asked about the levels of ppm for each of the following, and here's what he told me: Nitrogen. 0 Phosphorous. 0 Potassium. 4.6ppm Magnesium. 24ppm...

Whats wrong with my future mother plant?

I know I shouldn't be taking clippings off at such an early age, but that's what I meant to do in order to turn this into a bonsai mum. Everything I read on the subject of creating a bonsai is what I've done so far. What about my initial concern though? The lime colored healthy leaves? I gave it...

Whats wrong with my future mother plant?

This plant is about 4 weeks old, and has already had some clippings taken off of it. I am using HG aqua nutes and am following feed directions exactly. I am getting this weird lime green new growth and even some of the older leaves are getting this lime green towards the stem, middle of the...

Water spots on the reflective underside of T5 Light

I have a few T5 lights and sometimes I spray my plants when lights are on and mist gets in between the bulbs where the reflective material is. I have noticed that it has dulled a little bit due to some water spots. Will this effect the efficiency of my T5 light as far as not being as reflective...

    cuttings in aerocloner- advice please!!

What about trimming the cutting before putting into the cloner? It seems like some of these are drooping because they have a weak stem to support the foliage on the plants. I have cut the new growth at the top of the cutting because that was for sure weighing the plant down, along with clipping...
