    Hemp

I was wondering how easy it is to obtain hemp seeds. Just about everywhere I know of that sells marijuana seeds, are seeds for bud plants. I'm interested in starting to grow hemp if I can, for eating and making things from. Can someone point me to a good source for hemp seeds?

    soda can myth

Some people (not me) water the plants with sugar water once every week or two. Not sure how effective that is, but it's supposed to help with giving the plants CO2

Wood ash is good for lowering the pH. It's not an exact science though, so be careful.

So bright skyless days aren't bad, but days with shadows are better. Thanks.

    Cloudy Days

Hi everyone, I was wondering how plants respond to cloudy days. With all the weather pattern changes in my area over the passed few years, we've been getting a lot more cloudy days. Not exactly rain clouds, although it's been raining a lot more the passed few years. These clouds just replace...

    Newbie experiment

First thing you should do, is only use one pot per plant. It's very risky business to have multiple plants in the same pot because the roots will get tangled together and compete for nutrients. As for the sex, you'll start to notice the sex of the plants the first couple weeks into flowering.

    Re-veg before harvest

I'd leave it to what it's doing. The buds shouldn't be harmed as long as the plant stays healthy.

Uncle Ben's Topping Technique to Get 2 or 4 Main Colas

Thanks Uncle Ben. I wasn't going to do anything drastic to the plant without a very good reason to. I'm fine with having 8 new tops, except the top 6 severely shade the bottom 2.

    Damn Storm

Even before my plant looked strong enough to survive more than a breeze, it went through 3 thunderstorms with big fat rain drops and high winds. I'd say your biggest concern is making sure the excess rain goes somewhere.

Uncle Ben's Topping Technique to Get 2 or 4 Main Colas

Um, something different happened with my plant. The first pic shows exactly where I topped the plant, with the very beginning of the new growths on either side. Here's the latest picture from today showing the new sprouts. This puts things in perspective. Red means since topping, blue means...

    Germination methods

Hi everyone. I just came into ownership of 25 seeds. I know about the paper towel method and I'm doing that for 3 seeds I don't expect to pop. I have 3 other seeds germinating in 3 different mediums. I'm using peat moss, potting soil, and bark fibre. In each case, I filled a small planter...

    When should I flower???

If you just topped that recently, I'd suggest waiting at least another week or two minimum. Give the new branches time to start developing.

    Don't know what I'm growing

Ok, so I have this plant, and I was told it was either going to be butterscotch or hawaiian. The guy who gave me the plant wasn't sure which one he gave me. Now there's a small chance it's the only g-13 he managed to get a seedling from. Can you tell from these pictures which strain it is...

    airy buds v dense

The only time I like airy buds, is when I'm too lazy to bust them up with a grinder. Airy buds I just rip apart and pack a bowl with. Compact dense nugs require busting. Also, using airy nugs to fill a bag is deceiving because when it gets busted up, it'll still be about the same size. Dense...

    force flowering outside question

I'm still pretty new to growing, but according to different things I've read it won't cause problems if it only happens once. Changes to the light cycle on a regular basis will confuse the plant and stunt growth, but rare changes won't.

    Need diagnosis

This is the exact soil I used: It's mixed to about 5:2 with peatmoss. (5 parts soil, 2 parts peat moss). I'm now watering the plant until the water drips out of the bottom of the planter. If the increase in water doesn't make the plant improve I'll have to rule that out and assume it's...
