I haven't done so myself but I recently read up on it a lot and from what I have seen you put it in a safe place and chop it up into small little pieces on cardboard which helps pull moisture out. After a while it drys and then you can press it into whatever you need without fear of mold.

Get R/O and a bunch of Jugs. I got one on sale at Lowes and I just gradually fill 7 gallon buckets through the week. From 600ppm to 0ppm, HUGE difference. You can also get a R/O system with a bigger Reservoir, but I just went with the one on sale and it is good for baking and drinking as well.
