If you want to lift the lid in a ScrOG the best way is to secure the screen to the lid so that the lid and screen move as one. Keep your water clean and you shouldn't need to clean the res the entire grow, in my opinion. Don't over-nute, keep the water temp down or use H2O2 if you can't, etc.
