Noob Nutrient Issues - Any advice appreciated

Screw the soil tester... it's just going to make you keep second guessing. You might not have to flush plants... in fact, depending on where you are in your feed/water cycle you might not want to. Flush them once you know what your run off is based on the results of the run off. So if the run...

1 pound/month Project, need your help and tips

You will need far more than HPS 400 for a pound a month. I'm going for a pound a month right now with HPS 2x1000 and will probably come in at around 12-20 OZ depending on which strains I put into perpetual grow. With a high yielding strain, figure 3-4 plants under each HPS max to be able to...

    Using promix and starting seedling

Outside of electricity, it's should be your second largest monthly expense. I use Aurora Innovations Soul Synthetics. It's an easy hybrid formula synth/organic. Contains all necessary macro and micro nutes and a generic eight week schedule. http://www.aurorainnovations.org/soul_grow.html

Dan, the flush is a standard precaution to take when you don't know but find out what your runoff is first and then you at least know nothing's getting locked out and it's probably something you're doing with nutes that is causing a def/tox. Depending on your nutes, mixing 7.0 water and nutes is...

HPS usually means you will need better ventilation and may have additional HVAC requirements. Factor that into your upfront and recurring costs and consider the end results.

Worm casting only here... and some super thrive. Half nute dose 2-3 weeks post propagation and then full strength from there on while in veg.

Nice call Bakatare! Dan - So probable diagnosis is high chloride count/pH and we're going to do better at pH testing and chlorine removal before we see recovery pics? Btw hit those plants with some super thrive if you can... it will help them recover sooner. About $10-20 for a small bottle and...

    Lights

Please don't take this wrong but I don't get the CFL logic I see on these sites... most of the people end up setting up such elaborate CFL setups that it ends up costing about as much as a small T5 unit or more. I know they're good for tight spaces and getting into nooks and crannies under the...

Noob Nutrient Issues - Any advice appreciated

Yeah let it sit for at least 12-24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. You can let it sit for much less (a few hours)if you place an air stone or small fish pump in the container for that time.

Like the previous poster said, pH tester $20 and you can't go wrong. Go get some pH down and up... don't use lime or lemon if you don't have to. Also, it is the law in most states that municipal water supplies must provide info to consumer on what is found in their water. Most of them have web...

Don't test the soil. Soil testers are useless. Know what is going in and test what is coming out if you're in this situation and don't listen to people on the internet diagnose your pictures until you are certain.

MS Patient - Looking for Recipes

Thank you for the response. The problem is she can hardly move her head and her new nurse aid is not the old nurse aid who would actually hold a vaporizer to her mouth for her. I though about making cookies or brownies and just mashing them up with milk.

    Using promix and starting seedling

I typically mix ProMix with worm castings ... 3 portions of pro-mix per 1 portion of worm castings. The castings should give them what they need. Maybe a little super thrive until nutes start.
