i use humboldt nutrients and they recommend letting the mix sit for 24-48 hrs to allow the biological components to get working. the mix will also pretty much ph balance itself if you let it sit for 72 hrs. i think this is only for the humboldt lines though.

yeah, the soil ones are a bit stretchy. when you transplant, bury them up to a few inches below the lowest branches. also, you may have to support them until you transplant them.
