I'm in the MA/RI area myself and the bud here sucks and is next to impossible to get. When I was in my teens/20's I had more bud coming at me than I could smoke, but now that I'm pushing 40 I don't have the connections anymore. It sucks and that's why I've decided to do something about it.

Drill It! You'll need at least a 6 inch long auger bit. To avoid hitting wires make sure you don't drill right next to a stud and stay about a foot away from the floor and ceiling. Your "renovations" are tiny compared to what I've seen a lot of people do.
