    Cheap Source for T5 Fluorescents

T5's are HO (High Output) tubes and work ONLY with a T5 ballast. They are physically quite different from "regular" T8 fluorescents, much skinnier and smaller pins, so it's pretty much impossible to put the wrong bulb in the wrong fixture. The advantage of T5's is that they put out much more...

    PH Drift....why?

Hi, y'all. This is similar to the issue that started this thread, but with a completely new setup. I've moved five of my ladies into a grow tent 4X4X8, under 1000W HPS 12/12, in an ebb/flow table with thoroughly washed Hydroton. 15 gallon res, GH floragro/micro/bloom mixed to GH's bloom...

    Cheap Source for T5 Fluorescents

OK, so I did some reading of Pr0fesseur's excellent report on wavelength, and it is an eye-opener. There is so much information on growing that it's easy to start yearning for some basic rules-of-thumb to simplify the process. The whole discussion of wavelength (and its complex...

    Cheap Source for T5 Fluorescents

Not my website, just a place I found while shopping for bulbs.

    Cheap Source for T5 Fluorescents

That's news to me....I just figured that if it's 54 watts and 6500K, it's all good. So, Eiko is a substandard brand, or something? I'll check out the Professor's thread. Thanks....there's an awful lot to learn, and I'm glad for resources like Rollitup.

    Cheap Source for T5 Fluorescents

Yeah, I was stunned. The thing is, everywhere else you see prices like that, you have to buy a case of 30 or 40 bulbs. This guy will sell them one or two at a time at the case price. It's the real deal; I busted one of the 4' T5's in a 4 bulb fixture, and I now have all 4 lamps glowing...

    Cheap Source for T5 Fluorescents

Hey, y'all - They're not paying me to say this, but here's a place that will sell T5's in small quantities at the case price: http://www.payless-4-lighting.com/f54t5-ho-865.html I got quantity 2 of 4-foot 6500K T5 tubes for $3.30 each from Payless, as opposed to $15.00 or so at most places...

    Nute Burn on seedlings/clones

Yep, it was way too soon to start feeding the girls, lesson learned. I've been pouring distilled water through the cubes as you suggested, and the burn seems to have stopped progressing. The outer 1/3 of the leaves is burned, but they're hanging in there. Thanks for the info!

    Nute Burn on seedlings/clones

I have a starter tray that's about 10 each of seedlings from seed and clones from some very robust girls in the veg room, about 2 weeks old. They're in GroDan 1" starter cubes; I've been hand-watering them with distilled water and they were doing fine. 12 hours ago, I mixed up a 1 gallon batch...

    PH Drift....why?

Vincent Price was a gourmet cook as well as a great actor, and many years ago he did a short show on making coffee. I'm very picky about coffee, and paid close attention. He said: "The secret to a great cup of coffee is "fanatical dedication to cleanliness". He's right. Following that...

    Harvest Time: A Tutorial

Hey, Fade, great info and pics! Question: This is the first mention I've seen about harvesting one or two branches at a time. I've read everywhere that the top buds, and the top parts of the plant in general, mature faster than on the mid/lower parts. So it seems that harvesting bud as it...

    PH Drift....why?

Good info, thanks. Their website looks good, too. I'll get some in and try them out after next flush.

    PH Drift....why?

I've been using GH flora gro/bloom/micro. Do the Humboldt nutes have some kind of ph stabilizer?

    PH Drift....why?

You know, even after several complete res changes, I still see some red powder in the bottom of the tank. That's kind of surprising, since when I first got the Hydroton in, I put it in a big sieve and rinsed it with a garden hose for 5-10 minutes, until the runoff seemed to be clear of red...

Yellow Spots - on ONE water leaf..?

I've been staring through the pocket scope til my eyeballs bleed, but no sign of anything creepy-crawly. Nothing that looks like bug shit, nothing that looks like web or foam. I shook the leaf hard over both black and white paper, and nothing came off; no moving specs. WTF?? It looks like...

    Cross-post. PH Drift

Hey, y'all. I'm a newbie, a couple of months into my first grow. I have six G13 Haze, grown from seed from Attitude, and they are looking very healthy. I'm starting with distilled water, mixing GH flora gro/micro/gloom along with CalMag and Aquashield to help things along. Growing medium is...

6" Flex Duct vs 6" Cool Tube

Yeah, I just wasn't being aggressive enough. After flattening the rim of the flex duct and sort of squeezing it over the cool tube ends, it finally slipped on. The Home Depot duct area can be very confusing, but the main thing is not to bee too shy when jamming the pieces together. And...

Yellow Spots - on ONE water leaf..?

This is my problem lady - in an earlier thread, she had creeping yellow crud all over. Thanks to advice from the brethren I figured out it was lack of calcium/magnesium, and a flush followed by a fresh nute mix including CalMag cured the issue. Now, she has big splashes of yellow on the top...

    Creeping Yellow Crud

Oh, yeah..... It's been 10 days or so since the flush and these ladies are strong and vibrant, thanks to the wise advice of the brethren. I'm gonna top them, wait a few days, and move them into the bloom tent with a 1000W HPS, a bloom nute mix, and switch from drip to ebb&flood. Any newbie...
