You are better off growing them in potato peelings. MiracleGro is really bad, burns plants and its Ph arent stable. If I'm right, you will see the following in the next couple of weeks. Burning at the leave tips. Stunted growth. Discolor of leaves (possible multiple deficiencies)...

If you are using incandescent lightbulbs for your grow. It has nothing to do with luck. You need to improve your knowledge base and I'm sure you will up your "luck". Read up on cfls if you dont got the space for HID lights. And like the image below. incandescent = dead/lousy plants
