If your window doesn't have some sort of coating against sunlight(anti-polarizing, or the like) then I'd say it's probably doing some good. Is it worth the effort, I don't know.

Get the lights as close to the plants as you can to prevent stretching. If it's ok on the back of your hand then your good.

You need a min. of 100 watts per plant. More light = more bud.

Get a bake-a-round off ebay and diy a cool tube out of it. Has worked for me and numerous others.

The more the better. They say atleast 100watts per plant min. And you can't just bla bla bla the issue for color temp. when it comes to your babies. You want what is called a cool bulb that is rated at 5000 kelvin or greater for veg. And for flower you'll want a warm bulb rated for around 2100...

Keep it inside the room sucking air through it as most have a prefilter for this reason.
