Boycott Alert: Sunlight Supply, Sun System lighting

I don't know, after seeing the latest video Advanced Nutrients put out on this, the one that talks about the illegal stuff going on involving the RICO Act, it seems possible at least that these big companies have got enough of a stranglehold on some hydro shops to coerce them to do pretty much...

    best nutrients

I'd go with Big Bud. That's always been the best for me. If you want to go the whole nine yards I'd say to get Bud Blood and Overdrive as well. They're a 1-2-3 punch kind of thing, where you start with Bud Blood, then transition to Big Bud, and finish up with Overdrive. Fantastic combo.

Overpriced Nutrients..get better nutrients for a lower price

I've noticed that, for the most part, one side of this argument is much more likely to insult the other. Apparently the people who buy commercially prepared fertilizers are all stupid rubes who are being fleeced by companies they're too gullible to see through. Those same people, however...

I need help. Im a super new grower.

I'm with Mr.smileyface on the soil-less point. It's the resiliency to mistakes of soil with the strengths of hydroponics. Sunshine Mix #4 and a decent foundation of, say, Advanced Nutrients and you can't go wrong. Forget all the "entire line" BS you'll hear. The only people who beat that...

Boycott Alert: Sunlight Supply, Sun System lighting

Count me in on this. It's about time for me to upgrade my lights and I'll be neatly stepping past any Sunlight Supply option out there. I like Advanced Nutrients (they make my favorite nutes) but this has nothing to do with the products at all in my mind. When a big company drags innocent...

    Wanna switch up my nutes

Well I've had great success with Advanced Nutrients so that's what I recommend. A good way to cut your teeth on AN is with Sensi and Big Bud. See how you like that and go from there into more complicated schedules if you want.

    Nute Questions. Answer needed ASAP!!!

I'll give it a shot 1)Bud Blood This is a flowering stimulant. Basically you use this early in flowering, like right after you switch to 12/12, to help your plants create more and larger bud sites. BTW, they improved their formula on this and changed the name to "Bud Ignitor". 2)B-52 This is...

    Nutrient Brand Poll

Definitely. On their website they recommend Sunshine Mix #4 so I'm sure most any soilless would work.

    advanced nutrients vs. fox farm

Well you can believe what you like, but I for one prefer Advanced Nutrients because of the results I got, not the advertising. Honestly, I don't even see the big deal with that, it doesn't bother me.

    Asking for advices..

Well I'm not all that interested in fighting about CO2, but I'd like to say that I wouldn't recommend buying the entire AN line to most people. It can be a little overwhelming for just starting out. But it sounds like you've got a handle on things so I'll just say buy what you feel confident...

    Advanced Nutrients

I think the liquid is easier to use too, but I do know that that's not the case with everyone. It's just a question of which you find easiest to measure accurately, powders or liquids. And as you say, the powder is a bit more economical since it's shipped dry weight. No cost for shipping the...

HPS digital ballast vs magnetic ballast

lmao I know exactly what you're talking about BigBudBalls, I've always heard those frequencies too. This'll date me a bit, but remember the old Apple IIe? If you turned the monitor of those things on but didn't power up the computer they'd whine continuously but only a few people I've met...

    lumatek vs galaxy digital ballast

Heating lamp? There's no place in the grow room for a heat lamp. McDonalds, sure, but don't aim those things at living plants. Don't use incandescents either, if you are. Those are basically another name for heat lamp anyway.

Cheap D.I.Y Hempy Bucket/Soil Automatic Watering System

This sort of thing would work great for even regular house plants. My brother with his black thumb could finally stop killing every fern he gets. The best part of this DIY is it's simple and cheap enough it's good for any application.

    vertical dwc grow

It's an interesting approach, but my question is just how well this would make use of space. I would think that simply going wider (using more of the area on the top of the reservoir) would give you the same final yield. And while it's not strictly DWC, once the roots hit the reservoir it...

    Grow 2 lbs. on a 2’ x 4’ 32 Site DIY Aeroponic Unit

Great thread here. I've used an aeroponic system pretty similar to this, it's probably the simplest and most efficient way to do aeroponics. I'd definitely like to hear how much you actually get in terms of yield when you really go for it. I've been using mainly DWC lately, but this makes me...

    plants under 4 foot tall?

Yeah, I've always advised people to expect them to double or even triple in height during the flowering stretch. I would switch to flowering at 1/3rd the height you want them to finish at, especially if you're not familiar with the strain.

    Advanced Nutrients' Secret.

Actually Advanced Nutrients has a whole organic line too. They're the only organic I'll run in hydroponics, in fact.

Anyone using general hydroponics flora Nova grow and bloom?

The thread simply spans a couple years, people drop by occasionally and add their two cents worth. I've got the same take on Flora Nova Grow as most, but like many people I like to put it in my own words. I feel that Flora Nova Grow is an entirely competent general purpose nutrient, which...
