LED vs HID - 4 Way Grow Off (1000w HID vs. Magnum+ vs. Apollo 10 vs. Penetrator 336x)

Looks interesting! I'm skeptical about HID lights being responsible for a pH problem though... looks to me like a variable has been introduced that's throwing off the test. Also, I don't think I'd worry about having all the lights the same distance from the plants, I'd set each one as close...

First guerilla grow, how are they looking?

I agree, those plants are big enough to put wherever you're planning to grow them. Just let them do their thing. As far as organic goes, like they said it means different things to different people. Just use what you feel is good enough for your standards and don't worry about whether anyone...

    First Legit Grow

You're off to a good start. I'd say you've avoided the worst mistakes newbies generally make and you're well on your way to growing some truly impressive plants. The advice here is all good. I agree that some clones from the lower branches are a good idea. You're not going to get good light...

Advanced Nutrients Sensi Bloom A&B Help

You don't give us a clue to your experience level or whether you're familiar with any of these products already but your question suggests you're pretty new to growing. So I'll just start from that perspective. Let's have a look at your list: Okay, the Sensi Bloom, Big Bud, B-52 and Overdrive...

    couple questions on advanced nutrients

BUdbuddysmile, don't worry about homebrewer, he just hates everyone that uses Advanced Nutrients. You get used to it after awhile here. I'm pretty sure he just searches the forum every day for any mention of Advanced Nutrients and then attacks anyone who doesn't agree with him about AN.

    Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect

I think it's pretty obvious who the real growers are. It'd be funnier if it weren't also kind of sad how certain people actually believe that everyone they don't like is just multiple accounts of the same person. Yeah, 'cause it's not possible that there are just a lot of people who don't...

    Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect

That quote doesn't have anything to do with Scooby, you're just trying to make it look like he's a multi from your little 6 post account. Who's the multi here? Yeah. Scooby's cool, leave him alone.

    I need help choosing Nutrients!

My advice would be to use what you've got. The Jungle Juice is a good product and it will do the job quite well. For your first grow... probably best not to add more stuff to the mix. The less complicated it is the harder it is to screw up, and the better chance you have of getting good buds to...

    OG#18 2nd week flower problems

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that a lockout IS a deficiency. Just a different method of causing one. A lockout is when the pH or an over-dose of another nutrient causes the plant to be unable to uptake one or more nutrients. So while there is enough of that nutrient in the...

    ADVANCED NUTRIENTS Organic Veg. Help!!!

And what does that tell you? I'll address this below with the rest of your argument on the point. Then you'd know that as soon as you alter a production technique you risk altering the certification requirements. And you'd be able to correctly answer the argument you make below (as I do...

    ADVANCED NUTRIENTS Organic Veg. Help!!!

Well color me surprised that exactly what I said happened, happened. Of course the Oregon guys sent an angry letter to Advanced Nutrients. The government waffled... that NEVER HAPPENS. Someone higher up the food chain had a fit, brought the hammer down on the people who'd been dealing with...

    Advanced Nutrients with Multiple Strains

Very nice! I'll definitely pull up a chair to see how this goes. SuperThrive is one of those really polarizing things, most everyone I know either thinks it's BS or super-awesome. Let's just say I don't keep any around.... Hehe. But hey, if it's workin' for you I won't say nothin' else. Your...

    ADVANCED NUTRIENTS Organic Veg. Help!!!

And we should just take your word for that because... you want to sell us different nutes? If they weren't actually organic, wouldn't someone with a bit more authority than some guy on a forum be doing something about it? Actually, that just means someone certified it as being organic. Usually...

    ADVANCED NUTRIENTS Organic Veg. Help!!!

If you want to be safe, just go with whichever one has the lower mixing rate, cut that to a third or a fourth, and start there. Work your way up as you go. This is a good line up for organic growing, I did a grow about two years ago I think that was pretty similar on the nute lineup. I didn't...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

I agree with everyone here saying "don't listen to other people when they tell you what to use" but to a certain point. Here's what I say. Listen to everyone. But just listen. Learn what you can by listening, then learn what you can by doing. I've learned a lot of lessons by paying attention...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

As usual there's elements of truth and fiction in everything. Homebrewer is correct that the type of nitrogen does affect the plants. He's incorrect in saying that Advanced Nutrients uses only one kind of nitrogen. Ammonium nitrogen produces greater petiole leaf expansion. Nitrate nitrogen, in...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

Wow, I'm not even going to claim I've read everything posted in the last few days. Some of you guys have way more free time than I do (or don't post during "free time" as the case may be.) Homebrewer - I'm not going to get into a futile argument with you trying to prove I don't work for AN...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

Yes, because I limit my posting to what I have the most experience with, Advanced Nutrients, I clearly must be working for them. I don't have tons of free time, and what free time I have I tend to spend elsewhere. When I come to forums I generally spend my time answering questions I know the...

    Leaves are curling.... Help!

Actually, these are most definitely seedlings, and the suggested feeding for seedlings is 33ml/100L or 0.33ml per liter. That's roughly 1.25ml per gallon. So "full" strength for seedlings in 12 gallons would be 15ml each into 12 gallons water. He's under 50% strength, which should be fine.

Advanced Nutrients Hobbyist line vs Technaflora recipe for success

Well it's been awhile since I've used Technaflora, but they haven't really made any improvements since the last time I did so I can answer the question. I haven't actually compared them directly with the pH Perfect line since it's like the third or fourth improvement Advanced Nutrients has made...
