It's easy to think that what you're using great if you've never used anything else. I've used some GH and some AN and between the two I'll keep buying the Advanced Nutrients. Voting with my wallet, as it were.

My rule of thumb is to always put as much light over a plant as I can cool for. I'd put wall-to-wall 1000w bulbs if I could find a way to keep them cool enough. Well, that and someone else to buy them for me. CFLs are cheaper to run and don't get anywhere near as hot, so they have good uses...

I've used it on potted plants and in my garden, mostly by just draining my reservoir when it's time to replace the nutrients and used the old solution to water the garden and such. It works great, I think.
