looks to me like its gonna be alot easier if i just stick to the light i was looking at originally. I cant use a hps because i don't have room to keep it above the plants at 1 foot all the time. That's why i think cfl will suit me best here.

I considered doing cfls from a hardware store but im not sure on what fittings i would require. I would prefer something that i can plug in and not have to wire to the mains! Can you help out fittings? I would use 4 20 or 25w cfls. That would be equivalent to 400w right?

Im in New Zealand. Thats the only light available. Of course there are hps etc but i dont think i require one of those for one plant..

Hi, Here i have a light im looking at purchasing. Does anyone have any idea how many lumens this would put out? Also its a 125w, is that actual wattage? Or would it be equivalent to a few 100w incadecents? Bit confused as i see compact fluros that are 20w etc but are actually equivalent to 100w...

So the light will increase the rate of flowering vs winter sunlight? Would you seriously use a hps for one plant? Unfortunetly i dont have space to keep a hps 1 foot above the plant at all times!

I was actually thinking this light for flowering. Switched on Gardener

So would it be best to leave this plant to flower in the sunlight its getting or should i look at putting it under a light for better results?
