Haha, no not really, they are predators though and can feed off of other pests.. some consider them harmless and beneficial because of that. They still have to shit though so thats no good and can potentially end up in your product if unaware.

Whats up with the jugg?? Some sort of co2? Like stated back fill with dirt to keep them closer to the center( if you’d like )

I say all bugs and insects are foes.. I once did a wash with lemon juice, peroxide and maybe something else.. Had a praying mantis on a bud, live and kicking it. Had it died and me not caught it, it probably had ran into rott issues

Ive cut the plastic covers off those 9w led household bulbs and messured the ppfd off them.. Those things push out well over1k ppfd at 2-3 inches.. Enough to hurt my seedlings with them before having a meter..

That’s actually quite amazing, props bro.. As for the flys, like amnezia haze stated.. it’s more than likely the soil.. you can try and top off your final container with a 1/2 inch of sand and maybe riggup some mosquito netting around the area to seal it off..
